FAQ

A: Solar Panels are a way of turning the sunshine into electricity.

A: They are mounted either on your roof or off your building facing toward the sky. The sun then shines on them and the sunshine is turned into electricity.

A: The panels still make electricity, even on cloudy days, just not as much as sunny days.

A: No. The solar panels are linked together with your regular electric power. The electric company will put in a special meter that shows how much electricity your solar panels have made, and you won't be charged for that electricity. Spin your meter backwards if you want to! We offer battery back-up options but they are very expensive.

A: That depends on how much you want to save. The bigger system you can afford the better. The federal government and state government will cover almost two thirds of the cost in tax credits or cash grants! (for businesses). The power companies will send you cash rebates as well for residential. We price our solar systems at $5.75 to $6.50 per watt depending on the type of installation. That is a completely installed price with no hidden costs. After tax breaks and rebates you would only be paying out about a third of the cost yourself. You start saving on your electric bill from the first day your system is connected to the "grid". Electric companies are also raising rates, but solar never goes up!

A: We only use the best quality solar panels and mounting systems. The typical components in the system are guaranteed for 25 Years. The only maintenance is hosing off the panels a couple of times a year and with no moving parts, the system will last a long, long time. Depending on how much you pay for electricity and the size system you get, you could be getting free power in just a few years.
